GEO / AI search

GEO

Definition

GEO, generative engine optimization, is the practice of structuring content and facts so AI answer engines cite you when they compose an answer. It is an industry category, still loosely defined, and used almost interchangeably with AEO.

Why it matters

Search is shifting from a list of links to a composed answer. When an engine answers directly, the win is no longer ranking first; it is being the source the answer is built from.

GEO is the label the industry put on optimizing for that. The honest caveat: it is a young category, and a lot of what gets sold under the name is guesswork dressed as method.

The durable part is not a trick. It is making your content structurally liftable and your facts checkable, so an engine can quote you without guessing.

How Jinn treats it

Jinn does not sell GEO as a growth hack. We treat it as a consequence of one thing: a brand modeled as a record, with facts an engine can verify and content it can lift cleanly.

So our answer to GEO is not a bag of tactics. It is grounding. Get the record right and the citations follow, because the engine has something real and structured to cite. Where a claim cannot be backed, the honest move is to say so.
